What is a domain name, and why do I need one?
Every website starts with a domain name. A domain name is the address you see within the URL field above any website – it tells visitors where they are. Ideally the domain name should be that of your business, a shortened form of it, or a fun interpretation of it. Having a logical domain name such as www.mybusiness.com makes it much easier for users to remember and share with others, which means more visitors and potential customers and leads coming to your site.
Web builder sites and internet service providers often offer a limited amount of web space along with a domain name. This is okay for personal sites, but it doesn’t really work for businesses that rely on their website as part of their operation.
